Introduction

Hello. My name is Gwanosh. I am an Omerta trainer in an IRC Omerta training channel, #Uomini.D'Onore . I have taught many people the ways of this game and one day decided maybe there should be a website which would help people with EVERY aspect of this game.
There's no way of knowing how much longer I have left (alive or playing omerta), so might as well leave a legacy behind me. Share with the world what I know, so I can be helpfull even when I'm not around anymore. So I started thinking about a website and the best way to create it. This was what I came up with.

Although I tried to make this as extensive as possible, it doesn't answer every question about Omerta. For any further questions, join #sons @ IRC (irc.barafranca.com, port: 6667) and feel free to speak to me, authed as Gwanosh. If you have suggestions, complaints, corrections or just wanna say hi, drop by, me or any of the ops can help you out, take a message if you wanna leave anything for me, but ultimately (and that's what matters the most), they're all awesome people.
The channel has a lot of history which I'm not gonna talk about too much in here, we try to keep up to date, we try to inform people to the best of our abilities and to be online and available for contact the most we can. We have trained people who got into pretty much every position of the game: Dons, Sotto's, Consigs, Capo's, awesome players, that are now considered experienced valuable players that were taught to play with honour, have fun and never settle for good, when you can be great. That's what we teach, that's why I decided to make this website: Because good just doesn't cut it for me.

So here it is: My legacy to the world of Omerta. May it prove to be useful many many times from today on...

Warning: All the content of this website was made by me. Since Omerta just went into version 2.6 (the last time I updated), there could have been some changes. Besides, all the information in any of the Charts is questionable and not 100% true. They are there to provide a guideline, a blunt idea of how things are, not to tell you exactly how much to shoot, how much to have, or that you can't do a good Heist except if you use one of those cars (for example). This site will be updated whenever I see the need to do so. If you believe something should be changed, please let me know.
Ingame: Gwanosh (HP's are welcome)
E-mail: Gwanosh@lycos.com
IRC: Gwanosh @ #Uomini.D'Onore @ irc.barafranca.com (port 6667)

I've seen the Charts I made being used in a lot of profiles lately. That is wonderfull, but it would be nice if there would be some kind of credit given or a link to the website to help others find the rest of the information too. Thank you very much.

Brief Guide

Ok... How to fast rank in a few simple steps. If you want a crash course, this is it. If you want full training so you can master the game, scroll down and read all the rest too. It's big, but it gives you preparation for the whole game.

First of all: Get IRC. This is key if you wanna be good and accepted by families. Go to communication > chat > "The Omerta preconfigured mIRC client (Omerta-skinned) (easy install)"
Install it, run it, type /j #sons and talk to us... we'll help you out from there on.
Or got to mIRC's website and follow the instructions found where you'd download the Omerta preconfigured mIRC

Now you're playing. Try to steal cars everytime you can, do a crime everytime you can. Gather $36,000. Go to Shop/Market and buy a Tommy gun. Stop doing normal crimes and when you go to crimes do the "Shoot the bottle..." one. It'll give you killing skill when you get it right and this is much more important than money!!
Start trying to buy and sel narcotics. You'll need all the practice you can get when you're a low rank, so you go to jail now, instead of when you're a high rank. You'll fail all the first times (many many times). But it's best to fail now than later, when jail times grow bigger and bigger. Narcotics and Booze are the most important thing when it comes to RP (and money) because they give massive ammounts of it.

When you steal cars, you should keep all the crap worth less than 20k, and sell whatever is worth more than that. Crap cars will be crushed to bullets when you're in a family. You should keep some cars to heist with and some to OC with.

To make a Heist you'll need two people: A driver and a Leader.
Leader should put in a real tommy gun ($36,000) and 50 bullets and Driver should put in one of the cars found here for best results. It's believed that Heists are completely random... Still, why take chances, right? Even when you do it all right, outcomes can always be bad... Everybody can be unlucky now and then ;)
Results go from damage, to race form, to KS, to money, to any mix of two of these.

To make an OC you'll need four people: A driver (DR), A leader (LE), An Explosive's expert (EE) and a Weapon's expert (WE).
LE needs $25,000. Some people believe it helps if they have a villa, should be highest rank, if possible.
DR needs on of these cars
EE needs $40,000 to buy C4, some people believe it helps, if they have the highest bo's possible
WE needs $50,000 and 100 bullets, some people believe it helps to have a family hammer and the highest KS.
Leader sends invites, all the others accept and put in their stuff, leader says go and results are sent to inbox. Results can be anything from very little money to tons of money: it should be divided using this website (or one with the same function: )

When you start making money you should start buying the stuff you need to succeed in the game. The big survivors are NOT the ones with a huge bank account. The good ones are the ones who put the money to good use.
Buy the 2 cheapest bullet proof protection and the 2 first bodyguards, then the DC-3 plane, then start buying bullets and then when you see money is coming in nicely start buying the missing protections and bodyguards...

This is the simple, short version of a guide for what you should do. This should be complemented with reading the rest of the website, or by joining #sons (or any other place where you can speak to experienced players) so you can exchange experiences and ask whatever you want to know.

Main Page

We are dividing Omerta's Main page (after you log in) into 4 main spaces:
On the right side bar: Your gangsters menu:
Here is where you will take all actions within the game.
On the left side bar: Latest news:
Here you'll read what Admins have to say about the latest news in what concerns the game
On the top bar:
Right side: A clock. Click it to see both your time (taken from your computer's clock) and Omerta Time (OT)
If you donate twice, you will get a counter (next to your points and position), telling you how much time you
have to wait to fly, nick a car or commit a crime, so you don't have to check your status page and refresh it
all the time to know. I advise this for those who want to be real hellrankers

Help Divisory

On the left side bar you can see many links. Some in white, some in yellow. The ones in yellow are what we're gonna call divisories. You can click them to expand/hide what the divisory contains. The help divisory is the top one. Let's cover it's content:

Vote Of The Day:
Polls run by the admins about many things that can affect the game (or not). Users can vote once for each VOTD and new VOTD's can be found every now and then (it's not regular, they just show up).

Donate:
Find out more about how to donate in your country and come here to activate the donation codes you get (if you get any, obviously). You can get donating codes by donating or from Obay.

F.A.Q:
Frequently asked questions. I would strongly advise you to read this. Even though I cover most of it in here, it might be some usefull reading anyway.

Ticket System:
Think you saw a bug in the game? Have a suggestion you think is worthy of being passed up to the admins? Or one that you think isn't worthy of it, but what the hell? :') The ticket system is the way to contact them. They try to be as helpfull as possible as fast as possible. Try to use it in what regards bugs and suggestions. For questions try the official channel #help, or seek help from our veterans in #sons .

Omerta Shop:
Are you a hardcore Omerta fan? Do you wanna show it to the World? This is it. Buy your t-shirts, mouse pads, mugs and check the page for more. It's awesome ^^

Status

Status Page has many boxes, which show you general info about yourself:
Status: Shows you info about yourself. Name, city you're in, family you belong to (if any) etc. All those topics will be spoken about in further chapters.
Status Bars: Shows you your Rank Progress (RP) which is how much of the current rank you have completed and how far you are from evolving to the next one, your Killing Skill and your Health.
Possessions: Own a plane? Bullets and a Weapon? Bodyguards or Villa's? It'll show here..
Money: The money in your Pocket and in the Bank.
Waiting Times: How long do you have to wait until your next crime? Or until you can do a heist again? Consult your waiting times here. There are also two green/red squares which let you know if you already bought booze & narcotics for the hour.
Work Experience: How many times have you saved someone from that huge time in jail? How many damn times have you tried to nick a car. Statistics about how many times you've done some of your criminal endeavours can be found here.

Bank

In this page you can store and withdraw money from your bank account. You don't have to take the time to create one, you will be given one when you first sign up ;)
To put money in your Bank account you'll have to withdraw all you have in there first. So the 24 hours you have to wait till you get interest will be reset. To receive this money after the 24hours have passed, simply access the Bank page and the money will be put in your hand, so you can deposit it back and get more interest after another 24hours.
You can transfer money: Doing this there are 3 options:
1) Transfer to a user, insert his/her name in the little textbox
2) Transfer to a friend from your friendlist (FL), use the little dropdown list
3) Transfer to the family bank, leave the 2 first options blank and check the little circle "Family Bank"

You can also scroll further down and see the records of your last 10 sent and received transfers.

Shop/Market

This is where a gangster goes to get what he needs to survive. Protection can be bought here. Here you can:

Bribe the feds:
So they won't confiscate the stolen cars in your garage. This has happened about twice throughout my entire Omerta life... So I wouldn't say it's advisable to spend money on it.

Real estate:
Villa's. Would you like to get married? Would you like to have absolutely all protection? You'll need some of these. Advisable if you already have all the other protection and have some extra money to invest in your own well being.

Weapons:
The best gangsters carry the best weapon. You only need to know two words here: Tommy Gun. No gangster is for real without one of these.
Bodyguards:
Basic protection, you want to have all of them. It's advisable to buy the 3 first, then get the other kinds of protection and only then buy the 2 last bodyguards.

Protection:
Bulletproof stuff. The more you have, the safer you will be. Experienced players know the key is to be fully protected and buy all of them. Now you do too.

Planes:

Now, why would you pay $1M for a plane if you can purchase one for $200k? Well, waiting times to travel change according to the plane you have. Times between flights are as follows:
No plane: 75 minutes
Fokker DR-1: 60 minutes
Havilland DH 82A: 50 minutes
Fleet 7: 40 minutes
Douglas DC-3: 30 minutes

Remember: Having no plane you can not trave from Europe to the US or the other way around. You can with any plane, just as long as you have one.

Safehouse:

You can buy time in which you'll be safe from all threats. Being in the safehouse means that those mean people hiring detectives on you won't find you until you're out. But you won't be able to do anything but wait while you're there. No crimes, no cars, no checking your mail... Nothing. It's all off limits. It normally only delays your death, unless you have a brilliant plan to when your time in the SH runs out.

Market:
Whatever you bought, you can sell, you'll get 90% of what you payed back if you sell anything. There's no way to dismiss Bodyguards though. Once they got your back, they'll have your back till your sleeping with the fishes.

Arcade

Bored? You could use some entertainment? Or are you just a huge Pacman or Snake fan? Well, the Arcade is for you. Many games for the bored ones. Feel free to check it out and have fun playing all the little Arcade Games omerta provides you with.
Brings no advantages ingame, but it's nice nonetheless ;)

Travel

There are 9 available cities for you to travel to in Omerta. You'll have to have a plane to be able to travel between all of them (can't cross the Atlantic Ocean on a train).
Traveling gives you RP (even though very very little) and it's mostly used to do Runs (which will be covered later on)
Cities are:
Las Vegas;
Chicago;
Detroit;
New York;
Philadelphia;
Baltimore;
Palermo and
Corleone.

Different Planes give you different travel times when traveling:
Train: 75 Minutes
Fokker DR-1: 60 Minutes
Havilland DH 82A: 48 Minutes
Fleet 7: 40 Minutes
Douglas DC-3: 30 Minutes

City Maps

Opening the City Maps page you will be able to see a map of the City you're in (d'oh). Cities are divided into spots (check it out to see what I mean). In order to start a family you'll have to buy one Spot. Each spot allows you to have 25 members. The first spot costs $25M, the next ones cost a bit over $18M and hold another 25 members each.

A family can have a maximum of 14 spots (1 held by Don and 13 held by Capo's), in a total of 350 members, maximum.

(Local) Bullet Factory

We'll cover both the menus in here.
Bullet Factories can be bought by anyone that is in a family for $1M. There is one per city and they produce bullets. The price of them is defined by the owner and it keeps producing.

Local Bullet Factories are different though. And it's where most gangsters get their bullets from. They are run by the game (not one user), 999 bullets enter the factory every 1-2 minutes at the exact same second. So they would enter the factory at X:30m:11s and then at X:31m:11s or X:32m:11s. They cost a random price between $250 and $750 per bullet and you can only buy 400 at a time. After you bought your bullets you'll have to wait 60 minutes till you can enter a bullet factory for more again.

How many bullets should you have at your rank?
Check here!
*Capodecina should have the same ammount as a Godfather/Firstlady.

Detectives and Killing

Hiring Detectives is the first step to kill somebody. You will enter the name of the person and enter a menu where you can decide how many detectives to hire, in which cities and for how long they should look:
One detective in one city for one hour costs $3749. Two hours will double the price, and so on.
Unless you know what city your target is in, you should hire at least one in each city. But hiring one detective to find a guy in one hour in a city as large as any of those 9 cities is asking them not to find anything. To make sure you find someone you should hire 10 detectives per city. This will cost you $299,920 and within the hour you will know where your target is. A message will be sent to your inbox telling you where you're victim was found. They will follow the victim for 2 hours, after which you'll have to hire again to got for the kil.
Now comes the fun part. Kill the guy. Travel to the city your detectives found your target in and go to the kill menu. Type in the name of the guy, the ammount of bullets. Choose wether or not to make it anonymous and choose a nice little message for them to see when they try to log in and find they're dead. Or maybe a not so nice one.

Remember one thing about killing. Whoever you kill, can always start a new account and rank like a bitch, and if he finds out you killed them, they might just come back to bite you in the ass. So be aware of possible consequences when killing, and make sure you kill if you hit, otherwise they'll know you shot. They'll have your name in the same menu. You can see your records and the records of people shooting you if you scroll down in the Kill Menu. If you fail to kill you'll have to wait 60 minutes to try again.
Waiting time between kills varies depending on your rank and your victims'. If you're a Bruglione and kill an Empty Suit, you'll have to wait ages. If you kill some1 your own rank waiting times will drop to something like 30 minutes.

When killing remember:
1) People could have backfire, so if your target is offline, you might wanna consider shooting twice (backfire will be explained later on).
2) Go to your victims profile and make sure he has been playing for over 48hours. If they haven't, you won't be able to kill them, cause every new player has a period of 48hours since their startdate in which they can't shoot or be shot.
3) If someone took a first shot at a guy, so you could finish them off, make sure you wait 15 minutes before taking the second shot, otherwise you won't be able to shoot. Once somebody is shot, it takes 15 minutes before they can be shot again.
4) When killing for Killing Skill, only shoot people of the same rank or ONE rank lower. Lower that that will not give you any KS. Never shoot less than 501 bullets, or you won't get KS.

Witness Statements
When you kill someone. One random, online, in the same city as you, person gets a message that reads "You witnessed Person1 kill Person2". If the victim is in a family, two messages are sent. One to that one random person, and another to a random person of the victim's family, in the same conditions. You should send these messages to your Top3 or capo. They can also be sold, but you shouldn't do this until you've spoken about them with one of your tops.

Wondering how many bullets you should use for a kill?
Check this out.
*Killing a Capodecina should require around the same bullets it would for a Bruglione, unless that Capodecina is Don.

Bloodbank

Blood in Omerta is equivalent to Health. To replenish your health you must buy blood. There are different Bloodtypes. You can check yours in the Status page. Blood is restocked every 10 minutes (at x:10m, x:20m, x:30m, etc) and the price depends on the quantity there is in stock (thus the more there is, the cheaper it will be, and the biggest ammount you'll find will naturally be after the restock, every 10 minutes).

Blood can only be bought every 45 minutes and there an indication of how much longer you have to wait to buy in your status page waiting times square. You'll regain blood when you travel too, only after you hit Thief you'll only get 1% Health per travel, which is not much.

Different bloodtypes can buy different bloodtypes: Compatibilities

Honour Points

Honour Points can be sent from the rank of Shoplifter (or once you have received 500 yourself) and you can send 80 per week when you reach that rank. From there one, you can send 20 more/week for every time you promote.
With every promotion you get 20 extra Honour Points to send at the time of your promotion. Those honour points you can send come in at Midnight when Monday starts and if they are not sent until Sunday at 23h:59m:59s they will disapear and be replaced by new ones for the new week.

Honour Points stand for precisely that: Honour. Thus they should never be sold, bought or traded. They should be sent to anyone who you feel has done a honourable thing. When someone busts you out of jail, maybe he deserves a honour point. If a don spends his playing game running a family so you have protection and you can play, maybe he deserves some honour points. Capos and other tops might deserve some too.
When you see someone who does, or has done something you find honourable and worthy of reward, you might wanna give that reward, some honour points might do.

The Leage of Dishonour is where the top 10 people with the most dishonour points can be seen, laughed at, targeted for kills, displayed like the lamez0rs they are. Dishonourable people are the scum of the Mafia. This is a personal opinion. I thought I could add it to a page I'm making myself at least once. Dishonour points can be sent in the same way Honour points are sent. Open the menu, type in the name, the ammount of HP's (or dHP's) you wanna send and add a message if you want to. (There's an anonymous option which is explained in the page. Also there's a weekly tribute option which is also explained there).

Wondering how many HP's you can send?
Check here!
*Capodecina can send the same HP's as a normal Bruglione except in case that Capodecina is don and over 100% Ranking Progress, in which case Godfather/Firstlady status applies.

Hitlist & Pillory

Hitlist is where you can put a price on a gangster's head. If you kill somebody who had been hitlisted, 90% of the value will be automatically transferred to you. The minimum value depends on the rank of the gangster you wanna hitlist and can be found on the Hitlist Page.

The Pillory is where admins put the scum on Omerta. Cheaters, Racists and Offenders of all kinds can be Admin-Killed (Akilled) or put in the Pillory where gangsters can throw tomatoes at them for $5000 a piece. They'll lose health for every tomato that is thrown at them, when they die, the last person to shoot a tomato will be awarded the kill and get the gangsters money.
Offenses that can get you Pillory'd:
Scripting - using automatic scripts that do stuff for you automatically...
Racism - ingame messages, nicknames, stuff on your profile... Freedom of Speech exists, but your rights end where they start to violate other people's rights. Racists die.
Duping - Owning more than one account.
Account Sharing - Having more than one person ranking in your account.

Jail

Probably the most hated place of all Omerta players (besides the RIP Forum), Jail is also some people's work place.
You can go to jail for about pretty much everything in omerta:
-Crimes
--Shooting bottles
-Stealing Cars
-Trying to bust other people out
-Mega OC's

When you go to jail, you have a chance to try to bust yourself out 3 times. If you succeed, you'll be free as a bird. If you don't succeed however, you'll be in jail longer, and the cost to buy yourself out will be higher.
If you're an empty suit, originally you won't be in jail longer than 1minute at a time. When you're a bruglione, you can be jailed for a sentence of 20minutes sometimes (and when you get caught doing a Mega OC, you can stay there for hours). Luckily, there are such people as busters!

Busters are players whose life work is getting your sorry ass outa jail. The normally don't rank, so they go to jail for less time when they fail to bust you out. You can obviously also try to bust people if you're not only a buster, meaning, you can rank and bust sometimes, if you manage. If you do want to bust, there are a few things you should know:
-Odds of success when busting never go above 10%
-Busting, like everything else, is a matter of training. After hundreds of tries, it becomes much easier.
-You can go to your profile page and check an option to send a message telling people you busted them out. Good if you intend to get a "thank you" message afterwards, or maybe a reward.
-Busting other people gives you RP (even though very little), busting yourself doesn't.

To bust someone out simply go to the jail page, check the little box of the person you want to bust, scroll down and put in the code. To buy someone out, click the price (that it'll cost) and you'll have bought them out.
People in your friends list will show up highlighted in yellow. People in the same family as you will be in lighter grey.

Obay

Gangster's Ebay. There are tons of things that can be bought and sold here. You can find Packs of Bullets, from 1000-3000 Bullets each, Cars, Casinos, Witness Statements, Donating Codes (people spend RL money to buy them and sell them there to make Omerta money) and even Families can be sold there (they usually aren't though).

Warning: You can't bid on something in the last 3 minutes, so the last possible bid should be when the item has 3M0s left on it.

Car Races

Racing can earn you money, cars or Race Form, but it doesn't earn you RP. Race form affects racing only. A good racer is not a better Heist driver or OC/mOC driver.
Races can include 2 to 6 people, and they can race for the loser's car(s), money or just practice. You will get 0.5 Race Form for every opponent you beat (so 2.5 if it's you versus 5 and you win), and you'll lose 0.5 Race Form for every race in which you are defeated.

All you can do to win races is assure you have a good car, repaired and a high Race Form. But even having 20 Race form (maximum) and A mercedes w25 Avus Streamliner you can still lose a race. The random factor is overwhelming in what concerns racing, so Good Luck and make your opponents bite the dust ;)

Matrimonial

Ahhh.. Weddings.. Is there anything nicer than a party where a happy couple units until death splits them (which could be quite premature in a world run by gangsters). Marrying gives you no ingame advantages, but is there anything better than being united in holy matrimony with your beloved one? Didn't think so.

Weddings will cost the Groom $250,000, $500,000, $1,000,000 or $2,500,000, depending on how big you wanna make it. Besides that both Bride and Groom need a Villa in the city they choose to get married in. You'll need to travel to that city (both of you) and find two witnesses and tell them to join you in that one city (Witnesses must be Mobster or higher). Then just go into this menu and follow the instructions.
You can choose to be married in many places like the City Hall, Church or the Graveyard... There's no difference though.

Divorce:
Yep. Seems like all that "...till death do you part" was all Bullshit and you can't put up with that monster you married anymore, huh? It is possible to divorce who you thought was your loved one.
...More to come soon...

The Times

Gotta keep up to date with what's happening all over the Omerta world. Wars, weddings, contests, humour, horoscopes and so much more...:
Better your crimes by reading the times.

Communication

Inbox
Where all your ingame messages are stored. Notifications such as promotions, heist messages, (m)OC messages and bustout messages will also be found here as messages.

Send Message
Well, sends one of those ingame messages you can find in your inbox ;P You can send messages to up to four people, by separating their names with a ';'

Forum
Well, it's a forum. Not much to say about it. You can arrange Heists and OC's, talk to others about all kinds of topics, and have your name revealed to everybody. Some people seek targets amoung the Forum posters.. It's advisable to join a family before you start posting in forums (or fora).

Chat
The most important part of Omerta. IRC (internet relay chat). A real time chat program all the experienced gangsters use to communicate. This is the real world of omerta. Where gangsters meet, where crimes are planned, family plans start to gain shape, you make friends and enemies and many times where wars start too.
The real world of omerta is here.

In this menu you have 3 options:

# The Omerta preconfigured mIRC client (Omerta-skinned) (easy install)
Download it and install. It's the easiest way to have omerta's IRC server up and running so you can join all the other gangsters and start growing as one yourself.

# Use a version of mIRC with the Omerta servers (old tutorial)
Already have a mIRC client? Get it ready to connect to Omerta's server.

# Use the webbased applet to connect to IRC
choose which version of IRC you want (preferably .com, where everybody else is) and choose a nickname and launch. No download, easy to use Java version of IRC. It's crappy though... IRC is much more user friendly.

# Some usefull commands:

/nick (to change your nickname)
/j #channel (to enter a channel)
/quit (disconnect)

Booze and Narcotics

(also refered to as b/n and booze n narcs)

The most important part of the game. Start trying to buy and sell these as soon as you possibly can. Not for profit, just for practice. Buy and sell in the same place, at the same price, it doesn't matter. You'll fail most of the times in the beggining, but it's best to go to jail as Empty Suit or Delivery boy than as a Thief or Associate. The difference is between going to jail for 1 minute each time, or for 5. Of course, going to jail once for 5 minutes isn't too bad. Going to jail one thousand times for 5 minutes each can become annoying. And it'll be a while until you can master the buying and selling of these two.

Why is it the most important thing in the game (for rankers)?
Once every hour, for each unit of booze/nars you buy you get the equivalent RP to a crime. What does this mean? For a Godfather/Firstlady that buys 70 units of booze and 20 units of narcs, this means getting the RP of 90 crimes in about 10 seconds. Once every hour.
Once every hour is not every 60 minutes. It's once every hour: If you buy at 00h:58m and at 01h:01m you get that RP twice, because it was in 2 different hours (00h and 01h). If you buy at 00h:01 and at 00h:58, even though much more time has passed between both than in the previous example, you will get RP only once, cause you bought twice in the same hour (00h).

Prices for both Booze and Narcs change every 30 minutes (at xxh:00m and xxh:30m) and can be found in #booze/narcs (at IRC) by typing !p in the channel or in Living's website after making an account (for the website, not the same as omerta's!).

Runs: After buying your DC-3 plane, you can travel every 30 minutes, meaning you can follow price changes. You can fly at xxh:00m to where cocaine is lowest price (other prices follow, more or less), and at xxh:30m you fly to where cocaine is highest price (and again, other prices will follow). This way you get profit and RP every hour. It's how all experienced rankers and players do it, and it's the biggest money maker when you get to higher ranks. Just make sure you practice a lot when you're low ranked, so that you can buy/sell within the 30 minutes when the prices are highest/lowest.

Wonder how many units of each you can purchase?
Check here!
*Capodecina is able to buy as many units of both as a Bruglione unless they're don and over 100% Ranking Progress, in which case Godfather/Firstlady status applies.

Crimes

The most basic of your criminal endeavours. Crimes are the basic of basics, and yet, there's more to it than just click whatever has the highest percentage. Your first objective in the game will be to go to the Shop/Market menu and get yourself a gun. Get a gun and look at all crimes there are. There is one that reads "Shoot the beer bottle at a 100 meters and gain some aiming skills" that has 0%-10% odds. It never goes over 10% and this is the crime if you want to succeed in the game!! You will do this crime ALL THE TIME until you're killing skill is at 100%. It grows 0.1% everytime you hit it, but as you'll realize later in the game, Killing Skill is much more important than the few bucks you'll make with all those little n00bish crimes.
So basically what is there to know is: ALWAYS SHOOT THE BOTTLE.

Wondering how much KS you should have at your rank?
*
Since the start of 2.6 hiting bottles is much easier than it used to, so it should be that much easier to achieve these goals/guidelines.

Check this
**Capodecina should have 100% KS just like a Godfather.

There is a crime that reads "Steal from another users pocket". It's a one way ticket for spending the rest of your nights (and days) sleeping with fishes. Steal from someone, that someone gets a message telling him you stole from him, and make sure he'll be pretty pissed, and most likely willing to give his detectives some work, and put his gun to good use.

Nick a Car

My personal favourite. Good cars mean money. Crappy cars mean bullets. Any cars mean good RP and no cars mean a little increase in RP too. So there's no bad results when you steal cars, just do it every time you can. Pick the option with highest percentage and hope for the best.

Crusher:
How do crappy cars become bullets. Very simple: Crusher.
A crusher is something families hire. The crushers can be of different sizes and qualities. Normally families hire crushers that can crush up to 3000 cars (total, NOT per user) and turn every car you crush into 12 bullets.
How to use it: Make sure the cars you wanna crush are in the same city as you, or that you're in the same city as them. Go to your garage page, check all cars you wanna crush and scroll down. There's a key called Crush: It'll crush all the selected cars- Free bullets! \o/

Advice: Ship all your crappy cars to one city, a bit before the family hires a cruser (you'll be warned, normally), fly to that city so you can crush them all quickly. You'd be amazed at how fast a big family can crush 3000 cars and fill a crusher.

Garage

This is where all your stolen cars are stored. You have a dropdown list in case you wanna choose/see only cars in one particular city. You can select all cars, unselect all cars, ship or sell, safehouse or unsafehouse, repair cars and crush them (more on crushing on 'nick a car')

Safehouse
There's one good for the safehouse, virtually three.
Virtual- one: Some people believe safehoused cars bring better heists, OC's and races and what not. I personally don't. If you wanna believe it go ahead, safehousing a car costs $10,000
Real- two: When you select all cars, safehoused ones will not be selected. Good when you're crushing using the select all cars key. You'll crush all the ones you haven't safehoused (which means you gotta safehouse all the good ones).
Kinda virtual- three: Sometimes, feds will come and confiscate one of your cars, randomly. Safehoused cars can't be confiscated. I've been playing since 2.2 and this happened to me twice in my whole Omerta life... Not something you should worry about.

Route 66 Heist

Normally refered to simply as Heist:

Heists are a nice source of money when you're a Shoplifter for example. Since it's possible to get up to $1,35 million dollars in a heist, it can surely get you going, so it's good to try to do one every 3 hours. It gives NO Ranking Progress. None, but it's always good to get tons of money, or Killing Skill, or raceform or whatever (including damage.. tons of it :P).

To do a Heists you need 2 people: A driver and a Leader.

Leader should have $36,000 and 50 bullets. Driver should have one of these cars fully repaired if possible, or with the least damage possible. (the list of cars is a guideline of the cars believed to bring best results. Since they don't garantee good results, it's impossible to tell to what extent they are better or worse for heisting).

Let's take it step by step:
1) Leader will send the invitation, going to the Heist menu and choosing the Driver, the real gun and 50 bullets.
2) Driver goes to the Heist menu and accepts, putting in the car ID (copy it beforehand, from your garage).
3) Leader goes back to the Heist menu again (or refreshes it) and clicks the "Do the heist" link.
4) Leader sees the result immediately and Driver has it sent to his inbox.
5) Repeat the whole process in 3 hours. Thank your partner for the Heist, even if it wasn't good. Remember it wasn't their fault.

You can do a heist with a fake weapon and no bullets, and a crappy car. You can, but chances of success aren't... ummm... let's say they're just not good.

Organized Crime

Also refered to simply as OC

Another nice source of money. Unlike the Heist, that's all you can get from an OC. You never get any damage, neither do you get KS or Race form. But it can go from - The OC is good, Leader gets on the OC calculator page and splits the money between the 4 members
- The OC sucks, in which case you can share the money or gamble it. Normally Blackjack or one of the colours of the Roulette are used, becuase of their odds of success and ability to immediately double the money you have. This will be decided by the whole crew.

The four people you need for an OC are:
1)Leader - Should be highest rank in the crew. Some people believe they should have a Villa in the city of the OC.
2)Driver - Should have one of these cars. Some people believe they should have high Race Form
3)Explosives Expert - Can be anyone. It's believed that they should have highest BO's. I don't think so.
4)Weapons Expert - Should have high Killing Skill. It's believe to help to have the family Hammer.

The four people in the crew will need:
1)Leader - $25,000 (+ Villa. Optional)
2)Driver - Car (fully repaired preferably)
3)Explosives Expert - $40,000 for C4 (can use TNT at the cost of $20,000. Odds of success lower considerably)
4)Weapons Expert - $50,000 for 2 tommy guns and 100 Bullets.

Taking the procedures step by step:
1)Leader fills in the names and sends the invites
2)Every member goes to the OC screen and accepts their role, putting in the stuff they're gonna use.
3)Leader goes back to the OC screen (or refreshes it) and gives the go
4)Leader sees the result directly. All others get it sent to their inboxes.
5)Crew decides to share or gamble.
5.1)If they share, Leader uses the calculator and sends the money
5.2)If they gamble, if you lose, it's over, if you win, go back to 5)
6)Thank everybody for their time and the chance to OC with them. Leave honourably. Repeat in 12 hours
next to nothing' to over $1.5mill. There are two normal procedures:
- The OC is good, Leader gets on the OC calculator page and splits the money between the 4 members
- The OC sucks, in which case you can share the money or gamble it. Normally Blackjack or one of the colours of the Roulette are used, becuase of their odds of success and ability to immediately double the money you have. This will be decided by the whole crew.

Mega Organized Crime

Commonly just refered to as mOC.

Works just like the OC. Can only be done once every 3 days and differs in possible outcomes.
You can be jailed, injured and get shitloads of money. I've seen it go up to $18million.

A Mega OC requires 8 people:
1 Leader
3 Weapons Experts
3 Drivers
1 Explosives Expert.

The procedures are the same, cars are the same except one of the drivers must have a Crossley Kegresse Half-Track Truck. The costs however, are a bit different.

1) Leader now puts in $750k
2) Explosives Experts now spend $1M because of the introduction of EPE
3) Weapons Experts now need to put in one Tommy gun ($36,000) and 500 bullets. WE's lose their guns (the real ones) after the mOC is done with. Time go buy new ones.

The procedure is the same.

Family

This is the divisory that changes the most (the only one that changes at all):

When you're famless
...it contains only one link:
-Recruitment center- Information about the existing families, so you can check what families there are and talk to the top's to join them. Normally families try to recruit only on IRC. So you should really get IRC if you wanna conquer the world of omerta

When you're a member of a family
...it contains two links:
-Family page- Link to the family's page
-Leave the family- Leaves the family paying the leavemoney (doing it without contacting tops beforehand normally gets you killed..

There are more links when you are a capo, sottocapo, consiglieri or don, but I'm assuming if you get there you can check them out by yourself. Either way if you want more info on it, drop by #sons and ask, the veterans there will be more than glad to help.

Family's head of command is formed by 3 people:
The Don (when don is Brug 100%+ he ranks up to Godfather);
The Sottocapo and Consiglieri.

After there three, the family is divided into regimes of 25 players (maximum), which are formed by one capo and 24 members. The capo is the 4th in the chain of command. When Capo's are Brug and have been capo's for a while, they'll rank up to Capodecina. Which one of these Regimes is based in one spot that the family can buy in whatever city the family was started. The family startswith one first spot, which is the don's Capo spot.

To start a family
...you need to be Local Chief and have $25million (to buy the first spot). The rest of the spots cost the family $18.75million.

Gambling

I strongly advise you NOT to Gamble. Although you can make tons of money out of this, and you'll see players brag about the millions they're making, it's a very very risky thing to invest your money in.
You make money and you lose money: When you make money you want more, and end up losing. When you lose money, you end up wanting to get it back and lose more money. That's how Casinos work.

Don't gamble. Spend your money on bullets for yourself, and not for the casino owners!

Others Divisory

Main
The page you see when you log in. It's basically the history of how Omerta (the game) started.

Users Online
D'oh... Users that are online...

All Users
Errr.... Right... All... Users... That wasn't hard to figure out

Gallery
A whole lot of Omerta related pictures. That's it.

Logout
You won't click this much at all, as soon as you start getting into the game ;)

Statistics
A page experienced players check a lot and all others pretty much ignore. Here you can see the 10 last users that joined the big Omerta community, the 10last users that left it (died), you can see what families there is, which ones are the most honoured. You can check the bets and profits of all casinos and bullet factories. You can see who the most honoured players are and who has the most bustouts.

Profile
Change everything about your profile, quote, picture, color, add friends, delete friends, change password, change the language you're playing in.. Just take a little time to explore this. It's rather simple.
You can set your backfire here too. All the options are pretty intuitive. You'll never shoot more bullets than you have, if you don't have enough bullets to fulfill the conditions you set, you'll shoot all you have.
You can also set your testament here. Your testament is the person who gets 40% of the money in your bank account and all your cars in case you die.
